March 20, 2014

Alright! so P-day here is on Thursday (so I would have told you earlier but I didn't know). So I guess you want me to tell you everything huh... well first I'm going to respond to everything!

I'm happy the dog is still alive! I was seriously so super worried that he was going to die IN A WEEK, in fact it's been keeping me up at night a lot. Sorry about your spring break (not really), you just gotta come down to mexico! The weather is super nice here for the most part.

So I didn't sit down for that part about dad and I wished I had, because I collapsed, hit my head on a desk, had to get rushed to the hospital, blood everywhere.... DAD ACTUALLY WENT TO CHURCH AGAIN?!? WITHOUT EVEN BEING ASKED?! Is he feeling okay? I'll have to send him an email one of these days or something.

Ahaha I've been getting the same thing over here, it seems like everybody cries and we just didn't cry. Like people cried a lot while going through security, took a ton of pictures, had a really hard time letting go... Yeah I think we're broken or something Mom. Also, it's starting to look like I might have a shrine when I get home after all (seeing as you're not even getting into my room)

Alright, I guess you want me to tell you everything that's been going on here huh? *sigh* First of all they speak Spanish for pretty much everything except for when they really want to get a point across, so I'm starting to learn me some español. One of our teachers said we'll be fluent in four weeks so I guess I'll just have to keep you updated on that. Right now my Spanish is a little limited, but I can share a message in Spanish. Food here is really good surprisingly, well most of the time it is, and I haven't gotten the runs or constipated! Woo! My digestive system is invincible I think. The days have been kind of long but everybody says the hardest part is making it to the first Pday because a lot of the first week is like reception stuff and it really isn't that great.

We've been teaching a fake investigator (en español of course) and it's been a touch difficult for me but I've really improved a lot. I mean the first time I tried to teach I couldn't hardly say a word and now I can piece together sentences (granted my grammar is awful) that somewhat makes sense. Oh so I've got two companions, one is from Florida and he's a really big guy who talks really loud and a lot of Spanish, and the other companion is from Canada. The poor Canadian gets a lot of crap for being Canadian, but he's really nice (I guess the stereotype is true?) I love his accent though. Man it's been so long since I last typed that my wrists are hurting. I don't know what's wrong with me.

Sorry this email has been a little bit everywhere but I really just don't even know what to talk about, I haven't really thought about it that much... Oh so here's my normal schedule: Wake up at 6:30 (except on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday my companions and I wake up at 5:30 to go running), be at the classroom by 7, personal study until 8, eat breakfast until 8:30, do language study for a while, study the BOM or something else, go to gym, go to lunch, do more language study, teach an investigator, eat dinner, more study, go to bed. I like it.

Oh and this last Sunday was pretty much awesome. I really love sundays here (which is probably weird I know) but they're just so relaxing and cool. Also, I love church here, it's pretty great. And Sundays are movie nights where we watch a gospel movie and it's only the greatest thing ever.

But anyway, I'm going to go, if you respond in time maybe I'll have some time to like, I don't know, talk maybe? But yeah, just like give me specific questions until I really figure out how this whole email my family thing works.

Love,
Elder Kemner  (see that, I put an ELDER)

Oh! and you should like, post my email on facebook or something because I have to email with everybody else and I'm bored now. I guess I need more people to talk to.

The estimated departure date for your missionary is 22-04-2014. The use of the above address on all correspondence will greatly facilitate delivery to your missionary at the MTC. Please don't send packages.

Alright I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to send that to you so I did. Soooo I didn't get batteries for my camera but oh well!! I'm sure that Aunt Lori will survive for now. Don't worry, I will get some batteries soon. This place is awesome though! I mean I was excited but I didn't realize that it would be this nice here. I mean, going through Mexico City it was crazy because the traffic was really weird and there was graffiti everywhere, but it was really colorful and hectic and I don't know, crazy stuff. But the MTC is walled off from the rest of the world and you can't even see inside of it from the streets, so when you get in it's like a whole new world (You know you just started singing that song in your head). Oh, so first funny story. Me and the other elders were at the Texas airport, doing our thing, when the first two sisters show up. Now, one of them was pretty darn cute and so the elders were all like "Man, I hope she's in MY mission!" (I didn't participate in those shenanigans though) but when she said she was going to the Chile Concepcion mission, you should have seen the looks of envy on the other guys' faces. But anyway, I think that's enough for now. Don't have too much fun without me at home.
